Benue Police Command Takes Custody Of 26-Yr-Old Over Rape Of Minor

The Benue State Police Command has taken custody of a 26 year old man identified as Patrick Onoja Igah, for allegedly raping a 6-year-old girl (names withheld).

Igah, a native of Ogwurute Itabono Owukpa, in Ogbadibo local government area of Benue state, was caught having carnal knowledge of the underage girl last Saturday, at the premises of 7 Thunder Church located in Akparoji.

Our correspodent gathered that Patrick, also known as Omolomo, was beaten mercilessly by angry mob who caught him in the act.

A source who did not want to be named told journalists that the youths who described the act as abominable, “pounced on him, tied him and gave him the beating of his life until he fainted.

He said the rapist was later handed over to the local vigilante who in turn handed him over to the police for prosecution.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Catherine Anene said the boy is in their custody.
