The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. John Ngbede, has mourned the death of Dr. Terkura Suswam who was murdered in cold blood by unidentified gunmen.

Paying tribute, the state PDP Chairman, Mr. Ngbede, in a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Bemgba Iortyom, described the late Suswam, as a man of broad vision and uncommon courage.

He said late Mr. Suswam was one who in his lifetime exhibited a rare spirit of positive adventurism.

The Benue PDP State Chairman particularly acknowledged that the late Dr. Suswam fused his pedigree as an iconic academician and a passionate community mobiliser to pioneer developmental strides in critical areas both in the urban and rural settings of Benue.

Ngbede regrets that his gruesome murder represents a sad page in the chronicle of efforts being assiduously made by Governor Samuel Ortom together with Senator Gabriel Suswam and many others to restore peace to the Sankera axis of the state, which has been much ravaged by the activities of criminal elements.

He noted that in his quest to ensure that peace, security and progress for his people, the late Suswam shunned the luxuries of city life, chose instead to stay back in Anyiin and contribute his quota among his kindreds.

Ngbede said he had almost single-handedly transformed the socio-economic plank of the area through the provision of critical infrastructure, social amenities, modern educational institutions and commercial activities.

“No epithet will be more befitting to the tombstone of the slain Dr. Terkura Suswam than that he loved his people so much he chose to live and die among them, seeking daily their peace, security and wellbeing.”

Ngbede, on behalf of the entire PDP family in the state, prayed God Almighty to rest his soul and grant the family the fortitude to bear his tragic and untimely departure.
