Auto crash kills 2, injures 5

Two persons died and five others were injured in an auto crash involving a Volkswagen Golf car on Sunday.

The accident happened on Kano-Birninkudu Road, Birninkudu in Birninkudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission in the state, Mr. Angus Ibezim, disclosed that the accident happened at about 6:55 a.m. as a result of a burst tyre.

Also blaming the accident on overload, he said the car conveyed ten passengers instead of the required five.

He advised drivers to avoid overspeeding, overloading and use of second hand tyres.

He said the victims of the accidents had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre Birninkudu for the necessary attention.
