Goals from Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette in both half of the game saw Arsenal moved up to third place in the Premier League table after beating Newcastle United 2-0.
Ramsey, captain for the night in the absence of Laurent Koscielny, had an effort disallowed in the 13th minute but had cause to celebrate on the half-hour after sweeping the ball home at the end of a flowing move.

Emerick Aubameyang’s header pass to Lacazette to finish helped secure the Gunners’ 10th successive Premier League home victory few minutes to the end of the match after a fine chipping by Lacazette over Martin Dubravka.
Newcastle’s best chance at goal came from Ki Sung-yeung from a curled shot which went wide.
The Gunners are third and two points clear of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United who sit fourth and fifth respective on the log, while Newcastle are 14th, only seven points above the relegation zone.
