Will the governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode, defect to another party? There are speculations that the governor is seriously considering dropping the toga of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for another party.
Reports have it that a closed door meeting with his political aides and executive council members was held recently to decide the governor’s political future and ambition, especially as the primaries draw closer.

It was gathered that the governor has been in talks with key stakeholders of his cabinet following reports of a decision by the “godfather” of Lagos politics and National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to withdraw support from his second term bid.
It was also understood that the governor is weighing the option of a last-minute defection to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, or the Action Democratic Congress, ADC, both of which are part of the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP.
