The Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akwa Ibom, Nsima Ekere has promised the people of Uruan Local Government a road linking the communities within his first year in office, if elected governor.
He decried the fact that Uruan is the only local government in the state where people cannot go from one community to another without driving through another local government.
Addressing the people of Uruan on Tuesday as he continued his campaign tour of local governments in the state, Nsima urged the people to vote for the APC candidates in all the elections assuring that they would be taken care of if the party takes over governance in the state.
He said: “Uruan, my message to you is short; the dry bone shall rise again. The Ibom Gulf Hotel was a well known hotel that put Akwa Ibom on the map of Nigeria. The Gulf course was one of the best in the country. Today where is the hotel?
“The hotel has become dilapidated. The ministry running it has reduced it from a five-star hotel to a one-star hotel. One is even afraid to sleep in the hotel for fear of snakes crawling out from under the pillows.

“If I become the governor, I will revive the hotel and restore it to its pride of place. I will ensure it regains its lost glory and the gulf course will once again come alive. That is why I said to you; the dry bone shall rise again.”
Also lamenting the general infrastructural decay in the state, Nsima promised that he would rebuild and restore the infrastructure in the state.
He also promised jobs for the youths of the community, adding “beyond giving the youths jobs, we will train them in skills that will make them job creators and employers.”
The APC Guber candidate also reiterated his plan to restore and increase bursary for tertiary school students from N5, 000 to N25, 000.
