All is not looking well for Access Bank as #EndSARS protesters and supporters have mobilised to close their accounts domiciled with the bank.

The #EndSARS group are angry with the bank for freezing the accounts of some promoters and supporters of the #EndSARS protests last month.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had directed that the accounts used to receive funds to support the protests be frozen, accusing owners of the accounts of terrorism.

Though Access Bank has come out to explain that it was only complying with directives from its regulator, the aggrieved activists and their supporters are not satisfied.

They are insistent on going ahead with the decision to close their accounts while calling on others to do same.

In an effort to redeem itself, Access BankBank tweeted @myaccessbank: “We have always been committed to efforts that promote ease of banking and develop the communities we serve and we will not stop doing so.

We are for you always ❤.”

But the youth will not be swayed.

Replying @myaccessbank, @pizzfulprotest said: “This bank is gone for good.
You did not protest after funding palliative and they saved it for politics now you are helping them close account while we protested against bad governance.

We are coming to close accounts and hold cash thank you. Access Bank #accessbank”

Also, @iam2yc_official replying another Twitter user arguing against closing accounts with the bank, said: “Too late. It has already shown we can’t trust them with our money. Everbody pls close ur @myaccessbank account. Don’t let those that died during the ENDSARS die in vain. We move ✌️”
#EndSARS #accessbank

Some other twitter users have counseled against the move saying it is a bad idea.
