A group under the aegis of “Project Ortomise Nigeria Ortomatically 2023” has urged Governor Samuel Ortom to vie for the office of the President come 2023 to rescue the nation from the dungeons of insecurity and other socioeconomic challenges bedeviling her.
But in a swift reaction, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Samuel Ortom, Terver Akase, said his boss is not nursing any Presidential ambition.
The Group’s National Coordinator Mr. Samuel Onuh told journalists on the phone, in Makurdi, that the group is mobilizing a 30-million man march to support him to win the election.
Onuh who spoke on Monday said Governor Ortom is the only detribalised Nigerian with the political will to reunite all aggrieved ethnic nationalities and rescue the country from the grips of boko haram, bandits, insurgents, militants and other fundamentalists making lives difficult for the citizens.

He stated that plans have been put in place by the group to commence nationwide campaign aimed at pressurising the Benue State Governor to heed their call and avail himself for the exulted office ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He said the group is mobilizing a 10-million-man march, comprising of women, men and youths, for a march in Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital, to pressurise Governor Ortom to come to the nation’s rescue.
Mr. Onuh said Nigeria needs a man like Ortom who is ready to defend the Nigerian people with all his strength and might, stressing that the Government as a youth and women-friendly governor will reform Nigeria in terms of infrastructure and put in place other socioeconomic legislations and policies that would better the lot of Nigerians.
Responding to the group’s earlier statement which was trending on the social media, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Samuel Ortom, Terver Akase, said the governor was not nursing any Presidential ambition.
Akase said “Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom sincerely appreciates his supporters and interest groups who have taken to social media to call on him to join the 2023 Presidential race.
“The Governor however wishes to state that his preoccupation at the moment is delivering good governance to the people of Benue State.
“Governor Ortom still has two and half years to complete his mandate as Governor and is committed to greater service of the State.
He particularly appreciated the Benue people for the support given to his boss to succeed.
