The Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, Mr. Emmanuel Jime has declared that he will implement free primary education when voted into office.
Jime made the pronouncement while addressing party supporters at the Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB Square, Makurdi, on Saturday, when the party in Benue State flagged off its gubernatorial campaigns.
The APC Governorship candidate reiterated his commitment to prioritize the welfare of Benue workers as well as put a permanent end to the insecurity confronting the State.
He also pledged to improve the welfare of teachers to boost their commitment, as well as ensure the revival of the fallen standard of education in the state.
He vowed to implement a special plan for Benue farmers to boost commercial farming in the state.
Jime called on the Benue people to hand Governor Ortom a red card for poor performance saying he (Jime) is the right person to lead the people of the state to achieve the greatness they yearn.
He noted that it was time the people of Benue decide their future which is “challenged by the present ineptitude, incapacity, cluelessness and incompetence of a mind bereft of any leadership idea or capacity.”
“We shall prioritize agriculture and restore the pride of our farmers by making Benue an agro-processing hub for the West Africa sub region. We will revive agriculture institutions like BNARDA, Benue Tractor Hiring Agency etc. and trigger applied research for effective productivity and value chain.
“We will take advantage of the river banks in the state for dry season farming. Fertilizers would become a year round commodity that requires no Government House connections to access as is the case today.
“We will revitalize agriculture communication and extension. We will provide a suite of incentives for farmers to enable them access loans and all they require to go into mechanized farming,” Jime promised.
Also speaking, leader of APC in Benue, Sen. George Akume (kneeling down) begged Benue people to forgive him for bringing Ortom into government.
“When we brought out Ortom, we thought he was going to perform, but he has not,” Akume said.
The former governor appealed to the people of Benue to vote out Ortom’s failure, but vote in Jime, assuring that he would right the wrongs done by Ortom’s administration.

National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomole urged Benue people to vote against non performance, but vote in favour of President Buhari and all APC candidates in the state.
Oshiomole who was represented by Kashim Imam scored PMB high in his anti-corruption drive saying they will do more in the next four years.
In their remarks, former governorship aspirant on the platform of APC, Mr. Benjamin Adanyi and the 2015 governorship flagbearer of the PDP, Dr Terhemen Tarzoor said they have buried personal interests to team up with Mr. Jime to salvage the state from its present decay occasioned by the Ortom-led administration.
Dr Tarzoor who particularly referred to Gov. Ortom as a fake man of God, warned the people to “beware of fake prophets.”
They pledged their support and commitment to work with the party for a landslide victory at the polls.
