The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said it has removed names of 1,931 dead persons from the voters’ register in Kaduna State.
Speaking when he received the Senate Committee on INEC in his office on Tuesday, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in the state, Abdurahim Kasugama, said the names were uncovered during the recent display of voters’ register for claims and objections.
He disclosed that there were no claims of names of foreigners in the voters’ register, except for few cases of irregular images that were discovered and removed.

He said: “Our recently concluded programme has been very successful. During the display, we got claims and objections. To the best of what has come from the 23 local government, there’s been no claim of any non-Nigerian from Kaduna State.
“Those who died during the exercise were claimed to be 1,931 names which were removed. We also identified 12 people with still pictures. These are people who instead of their images put images of objects.”
